Odisha FC inch closer to top half with win over Hyderabad

A 10-man Odisha FC picked up their second win of the season as they overcame Hyderabad FC 3-2 in the 36th match of the Hero Indian Super League at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune today. This was the second win for Odisha FC.

Carlos Delgado (27`) and Xisco Hernandez (41`) gave Odisha FC a first-half lead before Bobo (65`) of Hyderabad FC scored from the spot to set up a nervy finish to the game. Odisha FC were awarded a penalty of their own at the other end, which Martin Guedes converted to secure the three points. Rohit Kumar (89`) pulled one back at the death for Hyderabad FC.

Odisha FC were jolted when Vinit Rai handled the ball inside the box, conceded a penalty and was sent off for picking up a second yellow in the 65th minute. After eight matches, Odisha FC are sixth on the table with nine points while Hyderabad FC are at the bottom with four points.

Marcos Tebar collected the Club Award on behalf of Odisha FC. Xisco Hernandez took home the Player of the Match Award. Jerry Mawihmingthanga (Odisha FC) was given both the Winning Pass of the Match and Hero of the Match Awards.
